NTEU National Posts Retirement-Related Information

NTEU National has put up some helpful information for employees who are considering retirement and about the advantages of continuing your NTEU membership in retirement.  Among the pieces of information they provide for potential retirees is the recommendation that you thoroughly review your Official Personnel Folder (e-OPF).  There is also information about how to ensure your retirement package is complete in order to speed up processing once you have made a decision to retire.

See NTEU National's Retirees Page here:  http://www.nteu.org/Retirees.aspx

Meet the New Chief Steward - Sean Carter

Starting today, there is a new Chief Steward at the union office in EPA East.  Sean Carter has served members as a steward for over six years and has been our union’s presence, and our members’ advocate, through many moves, changes, and reorganizations.  Sean plans to energize our steward corps and will be initiating stewards’ all-hands meetings to update stewards and encourage more active and full participation in chapter activities.
Sean has worked as a statistician in OAR since 2002.  He received his undergraduate degree from Norfolk State University, where he graduated summa cum laude, and he received his Masters degree in biostatistics from Harvard University’s School of Public Health.
Please come by and welcome Sean.  He may be reached at 202-566-2784 or carter.sean[at]epa.gov.
