NTEU 280 has been involved in raising employee concerns about the upcoming transition to My Workplace. My Workplace is a collaborative suite that is powered by Microsoft Office 365. Employees will no longer use Lotus Notes for day-to-day e-mails after the transition occurs, although we have been assured employees will continue to have access to view and copy Lotus Notes e-mails.
NTEU280 has already raised a variety of concerns to management including: issues related to how the transfer of e-mail from Lotus Notes to 365 will occur, the capacity of in-boxes and archives, limitations on the size of individual messages, concerns about compatibility with non-government furnished equipment. We have raised privacy and other concerns regarding the use of cameras, which are expected to be standard on the next generation of laptops issued to employees. Anne-Marie Pastorkovich has volunteered to be in the pilot group of users who will be migrated to My Workplace this week.
We want to hear from members who have any concerns they would like the union to raise. Please feel free to contact Anne-Marie if you have any questions, concerns, or comments.
